Insects are found everywhere, even in the Antarctic. They have been on the earth some 200 million years. There are about one million kinds of insects in our world and almost 1/3 of them are beetles. (In fact, beetle species outnumber all plant species in the world).

The number of insect species is greater than the number of all other species combined. Some of these fascinating insects look like miniature monsters from alien worlds or science fiction!
