Instructions

  1. Cut a piece of paper or tag to 4 1/4" x 4 1/4". Cover paper with glue. Neatly place 12 popstix on the paper, lined up side by side, covering the paper completely.
  2. This Kids Mothers Day craft involves teaching children the skill of building a 3D tower with sticks. Use the square you just made as the base, and begin by gluing 2 sticks onto it, one on each side. Now place a drop of glue on each of the 4 corners, and place 2 sticks across, in the opposite direction. Continue this method, placing 2 sticks one way, then 2 sticks the other way, until desired height. (We did 10 layers.)
  3. The cover: Neatly line up 12 Popstix, side by side. Glue 2 Popstix on top, going across all 12 sticks in the opposite direction (one on either side). Allow to dry.
  4. Turn over the cover and decorate with Heart Beads and marker. You can form a handle by gluing 3 Heart Beads to the middle of  the cover, one on top of the other.
  5. Optional: CREATE YOUR OWN JEWELRY to fill up the box!
Educational tip:   Learning to make interesting patterns with colors is one way of developing mathematical and thinking skills in children. Have them come up with a unique color pattern when building their Mothers Day gifts.
