    1. Fold the black velour paper in half (the width).

    1. Print out our Mothers Day Card Pattern. Cut out the white triangles. Trace the triangles (slightly larger- about 1/2 inch on all sides) onto different colors of tissue paper and cut out the tissue paper. Set aside.

    1. Now open your black velour card. Take the pattern (from which the triangles were cut) and trace the "design" onto the left side of the inside of the black velour. Then carefully cut the triangles from the velour. Now you have four triangle holes on the cover of your Mother's Day card.

    1. Fold a piece of parchment paper in half, just as the black velour. This will be the inside of the card. Trim the height and width slightly so that it will fit inside of the black velour, leaving a little black rim (as shown in photo above).

    1. Place the parchment paper inside of the black velour, and close the card. (Don't glue down yet, just put in place.

    1. Trace the triangle holes (from the velour) onto the parchment as a guide to where you will glue the tissue triangles. Don't make the lines too dark or they might show when you are finished.

    1. Then tape or glue the tissue triangles onto the parchment paper.

    1. Now glue the parchment to the velour.

    1. To decorate the inside, trace the vase from our pattern onto a color paper of your choice. Cut out and glue onto the bottom (as shown in photo above).

    1. Stick on flowers from the flower sticker strips and draw stems with a green marker. (Optional: Decorate with leaf stickers.) On each flower write: "My Mom is____________." The child/student should suggest a positive adjective about their mom to write on each flower.

    1. To decorate the cover, take the back of the adhesive flower sticker strips and glue two flowers in the middle. Optional: Glue on a button in the middle of each flower.

    1. Cut out the scalloped shape from our pattern and glue on, or trace onto a color paper, cut out, write "Happy Mother's Day", and glue on.

You have now completed this spectacular Mother's Day card! Now you are ready to present your card to your wonderful mother to whom you owe so much!
