Instructions

  1. To begin the kite craft, print out the PATTERN of a kite and trace onto a sheet of Foam, or draw your own shape. Cut out.
  2. Choose a patterned ribbon that matches the color of your kite. Hygloss Ribbon Rainbow assortments come with a variety of widths; for this craft you should choose the widest type (1 3/8"). Cut the ribbon's length in half, and staple one half to the bottom point of the kite. Have fun hanging all your hair bows and clips along this ribbon.
  3. With the other half of the ribbon you will create the comb/ brush pockets and cut out the letters. Cut a 2" length of ribbon for the comb pocket. Staple the 2 ends to the kite, leaving enough room for a standard comb to fit in. Now cut a 4" length of ribbon and staple the 2 ends to the kite, allowing the ribbon to protrude slightly, so that a brush handle can fit in.
  4. Use the remainder of the ribbon to cut out words for your hair accessories craft. You can use the PATTERN to trace and cut "HAIR STUFF," or write your own name or message. Glue the words to the kite.   Tip: If your ribbon is too dark/ too similar to your foam background to show up, you can use the reverse side for your lettering.
  5. Optional: Cut an 8" piece of thin ribbon and tie around the bottom point of the kite.
