Young children will love to dress up this little Gingerbread Man while learning about how to dress for winter. The Gingerbread Man can be used as an active winter project by making the clothing parts removable using Hook & Loop Fasteners, or for a simplified version, glue the paper doll clothing onto the Gingerbread Man. Choose the paper craft project that works best for you, but don’t forget to add your own creativity along the way! [Note: This winter craft can also be used as a great educational tool to build vocabulary in first and second language acquisition.]
OPTION #1: REMOVABLE CLOTHING PARTS
Note: In this version, a wooden gingerbread man base is used, for increased durability.
Print out the TEMPLATE for the paper doll clothing onto Mighty Bright TAG (8½” x 11”).
Cut out the winter gear clothing pieces.
Optional- you can color them in with crayons..
Stick a Hook & Loop Fastener coin onto each article of clothing. For the small ones like the scarf, you may need to cut the circle in half.
Stick the opposite Hook & Loop Fastener onto the Wooden Gingerbread Man in the corresponding place. [Tip: In order to get the Hook & Loop circles to match up, first stick them together, then stick one self-adhesive side onto the cut out garment, and finally peel off the backing from the other self-adhesive side and stick onto the wood.]
Glue 2 Wiggle Eyes onto the face of the Gingerbread man.
